Delta stuck in the dirt in DTW

Flew into DTW last night...heard "Delta Heavy" call tower asking for a vehicle to check their main gear, they thought they were stuck. Vehicle came back on tower freq and confirmed their main gear was "half buried in the sod" off the taxiway. Don't know if it had just landed or going for departure, or just being towed...anyone hear anything...can't seem to find any info.

There have been a number of cases of aircraft being pushed back into the mud in DTW over the years, too.

No one just calls themselves Delta Heavy, though... unless it's a sorority whaling thing.

Was this a push or did they depart a taxiway?

He said on tower, so that would indicate off a taxiway or runway... his post leaves more questions than answers.

Sorry for the lack of detail...it was Delta something heavy (1878, or something). I couldn't remember the actual callsign. I assumed he was taxiing, since he was talking on tower frequency, then he tried to call "Delta ops", but did it over tower freq. so he then switched freqs. Couldn't find anything, so I was just asking if anyone had heard about this. It was last night about 2300.

Delta plane gets stuck in mud at Detroit Metro Airport

Boy, I'd be mad if I was a passenger on that plane and Delta made an "arraignment" for me afterwards and then tried to tell me that it was to accommodate me. ABC Action News needs a new spell-checker.

Well, it in their defense, it is Detroit news! Arraignment? Arrangement? It's all the same :)
