Jumpseating on USAirways

It's been a few years since I've jumpseated on Airways. Is it still the procedure to just show up to the gate and request a jumpseat form?

That's what I do.

I just did it two days ago and that is exactly what I did! Good luck!

Ask the gate agent if a primary or alternate is listed. Just so you have an idea if any Airways guys have reserved the js already. Nothing worse than standing there and the primary and alternate show up and bump you off. Usually the gate agents are good about that but I've walked up 30 prior to a js I've reserved and an offline guy suddenly has to switch to plan B.

Thanks guys! I know its a week away, but I'm trying to jump on flt 839 from PHL-MCO on Saturday Aug 10th. My family will be on that flight and I would like to jump on it. Any idea on the loads?

I don't think we're supposed to quote loads on here. I will say that if that were my flight, I'd be feeling very good about my chances right now. Too early to know if anyone is in the js though. It can only be booked a week out.
