JB Interview Invite Working Outside the US
Hello Ladies and Gents,
I'm currently living in Canada working as a commercial pilot for a Canadian company. I would love to come back to the United State and work for Jet Blue. I'm a US citizen, but I have a Canadian phone number. My question is since I live in another country and have a Canadian phone number, are companies such as Jet Blue deterred from calling? What are your thoughts? I ask this because some of my friends overseas wanting to come back feel this is an issues. And does anyone have the inside scoop on the hiring projections for the remainder of the year and 2014 at Jet Blue? Thanks in advance!! Cheers!! |
I live in Canada also, but work in the states (I'm a dual). When I applied for work in the US, I stated early on in the cover letter my status(legal to work in the US and have a US ATP). Also, suggested the best way to get me was thru e-mail. Never was a problem. Overseas may have a problem because the employer thinks you are going to try and commute from there(?). Commuting from Canada shouldn't be that difficult, or let them know if you are willing/planning to move to the States. Good luck!

Just get a skype or a magicjack number. You can pick out your own US phone numbers. I've spent 5 years in the sandpit and had only US numbers listed. With the sheer volume of apps on file with every airline, I would imagine it would be just easier for the recruiters versus figuring out if they should put a + or a 1 or a 0 before the number and at the end dumping your resume aside.

Last system bid shows over 120 FO slots so should be a lot of hiring(even more if people do what they say and leave). Good luck hope it all goes well for you! |
