Very little 121 time. Right at 150 hours and all FO of course. I think it helped me a lot since even though the tenure was short, it checked the 121 box with a turbojet type (747).

So, I got slapped on the hand with a 30 day suspension 6 years ago. Any idea on how adversely this might affect my odds of getting hired at a Legacy carrier? I got some bad advise back in the day and really wish I would have appealed the suspension.

Is it on your PRIA? I’d request your pria records to see if it’s even on there.

I vaguely remember the head Delta guy saying they won’t hire people with FAA actions during their career fair last year. I’m sure they’ve made exceptions tho.

That depends...did you learn anything from it? Do you deflect blame or do you own up to it?

Problem here is that doesn’t get you past the computer or whoever is hand scoring an app that says “yes” to a violation. They don’t know if/what you learned from it. People get hired with past issues but I’m not sure how they get filtered in.

I’m assuming internal recs are huge in this situation

Or providing all documentation as an attachment

Or getting in front of the recruiters and asking them for a moment of their time

Or have someone at the airline go to bat for you in front of the CP.

Everyone has a story. You just have to keep knocking on different doors until somebody is willing to take a look.

...and it goes without saying that the rest of your application had better be immaculate. Fill every square you can fill. Get the most qualifications you can muster. Try to get a spot on your airlines interviewing team. Learn how to answer tough questions and put a positive spin on your answers.

It’s a great job to fight for.
