career expectations mid 40's.. which carrier?
So with all the airlines hiring now, or about to hire.. I was wondering what people though was the best place to get in "on the ground floor" so to say? Timing is 90% of this career it seems, and if you time it right, you can be a captain in a few years, and if you're timing is off, you ride the furlough wave (raises hand).
American? pretty "old" list? lots of retirements? How long before one can hold widebody FO? what about Captain narrow body? West Coast? etc? USAir? United, Alaska, Hawaiian, same questions... |

W/B FO at AA? Guys getting recalled and the AE flowups are getting MIA 767I FO. Back in 1998/1999 newhires were getting 767 FO slots.
Upgrade is projected to be about 10 yrs. W/B CA should be a couple of years after that. W/B FO, 10 yr upgrade, w/b CA a couple of years later, is all at the most junior base. |
