Everyone has their own likes and dislikes. For me, if the money were the same I'd rather fly 5 short domestic legs a day than one long international leg. Heck, taking off and landing is still fun, the rest is pretty damn boring. As for the layovers, I find myself in some really great places in Europe thinking that I would be enjoying it a lot more if I didn't feel like I have the frigging flu and I'm not even sick. Just tired!
I'd be quite happy to never fly another international trip and save the foreign travel for vacation.

Well put, look at UPS here in the US, one common pay scale and the senior plane is generally the 757 with its domestic trips and the 747 is junior.

Ohh man, that is what I said about USAir in the early to mid 2000's. Right before AWA bought them. I remember going to PIT and observing the sullen environment. I really felt bad. Now look, amazing.

Does Pit still have a ramp frequency? Been a few years, seemed a bit weird to call ramp with one aircraft around.

Yes. With 2 separate frequencies. Most secure job in aviation.
