Virgin Next To Unionize?

I have not first hand knowledge of that situation. If I have been misinformed, by all means, enlighten me.

I can say that Ive been a member of ALPA, IBT, and InHouse unions during my nightmare in the sky. IBT are crooks. They do the job pretty good for UPS but that's it. InHouse is just too darn expensive to start up, and who you going to trust to be the first MEC for the startup shop? ALPA also sucks, but there is a difference...
IBT- cheap Van Nuys blvd hooker and 300 lbs.
InHouse- expensive Melrose hooker and 92 lbs 6'7" tall
ALPA- Convention Center hooker 120 lbs 5'7, but you'll lose your pants and wallet when its over.
Bottom line is they'll all take your money and leave your Arss in the wind.
That being said, I would support ALPA here at VX asap. We need representation bad, because it's not getting any better without it.
Just my 2 pennies

The UPS pilots are represented by the IPA (Independent Pilots Association) It is a in house independent union.

He's probably referring to the numerous paycuts to try and save their pension, then the pension termination without being allowed to vote because the union thought the pilots would vote to keep the pension.

The IBT (Teamsters) is an absolute JOKE! A complete waste of time and money. They represent no one that is even close to the top of the industry, for a reason. I think ALPA services are by far the best and if for prior bias or political reasons a pilot group can't or will not get over, an in house is a far superior route.

John Prater was ALPA president from January 1, 2007 to December 31, 2010 when Midwest's troubles were brewing.

Lee Moak had nothing to do with the Midwest pilots being "screwed over" as you say. Midwest Airlines ceased to exist when it was folded into Frontier Airlines by Republic in October of 2010. Lee Moak was elected the incoming president of ALPA in October 2010 and took office on January 1, 2011. For the six years prior to that he was the Delta Air Lines MEC Chairman.

ALPA in the end is probably the only choice. Its just for some of us it is personal and I really get tired of the brotherhood BS. The only brotherhood that matters to Mr Moak are the legacy carriers. Some of us live by the fued. There aint no forgettin!
