DAL commuters living near RDU?
#4
I live near VPS/PNS which is a difficult commute...so just a general suggestion is to look at the schedule (a couple months out) for all the airports near you and plan to call for JS at each of them if you can't get your 1st option. (ie RDU then FAY, etc) Lastly, be ready to drive.
I'd plan on mainline....and only use DCI as a distant backup.

Parking? - some of the local hotels will let you park in their lot for a monthly fee. Unless you are actually based at the airport, the airport management won't let you use the employee lot.

Parking at RDU is $20/month for non-based crew members. They opened it up a year or so ago to anyone.

Interesting. I asked not too long ago and was told I need a letter from the station manager stating I was based or assigned to work at RDU and not a commuter. Looks like I'll make another run for it.

That is interesting information regarding parking. I was told several years ago that I needed to live in one of 5 counties surrounding the airport and work for an airline that offered service to RDU.
I often commute out of RDU and have just been paying to park in the long term lot. I will also inquire with the airport authority about parking. If this is the case, that is wonderful news.
I currently pay about 100$ per month.
