Fractional PIC vs Part 121 PIC
#2
From what I hear few folks leave fracs for majors. Many leave regionals for fracs.
The fact that you can make similar pay as majors at the fractionals (although not top out as hight) makes them places that most folks don't leave. That and once you get used to not dealing with the various issues of the airlines, it's hard to go back...
If you want to go to a major/legacy carrier, my suggestion is to stick with the regionals. You'll log time faster, and have more relative experience. The average frac pilot flies 1/2-2/3rds the time a regional pilot flies per year.

Its all the same....... dont worry about the PIC, what you need to worry about is meeting someone who can help you get an interview at the company you want to go to! When it comes to the "Majors" Its not what you know but who you know.......unfortunately for me

Based on my experience, good priorities for the resume are as follows, from most important to least:
Recomendation from a CEO
Recomendation from a CP
Silver Bullet
Recomendations from 6 Captains
Military pilot quals
Recomendations from one or more FO's
Turbine PIC
121 experience
737 Type (if that's your thing, not mine)
Turbojet
Glass
Turbine SIC/TT
MS Flight Sim Time

oddly, some companies prefer 121, but I think that's more to do with the FARs and how they're written with regards to NQP and "Hi-Mins" Captains that have prior vs no prior FAR 121 PIC.. the fact is Frac pilots fly a much harder mission and job than 121... having done both the ASA and Swift (netjets/flight options) type flying, I can tell you that my job at ASA was A LOT easier.. and the airports I flew in to were FAR LESS challenging.

Just be sure to share! Nobody likes a beer hog. Besides, maybe if you get the interviewers drunk, you'll look better through their beer goggles...
