maximum pilot height

Hi guys. I am a 19yo student from Slovakia studying on the university as a proffesional pilot. i have already passed 1st medical. I have always wanted to be a pilot. Flying jets was my dream since i was a little boy :) but i am 195cm tall ( 6'5 ). I noticed that i am too tall for military jets so i decided to be a civii pilot. I thought that civil pilots can be much taller because of a lot of space in cockpit. But yesterday i read that some companies have their own height restrictions. For example BA: 193cm LUFTHANSA: 198cm EASY JET: 195cm. Now i am feeling like my dream is dissapearing because of my height. I am asking myself: will they give me a chance to fly?

I would like to ask you guys 2 questions:
1. Do all companies have height restrictions for pilots?
2. Are there some pilots with height close to mine?

Thank you for you replyes ( and sorry for my english)

I don't think any US airlines have a height limit. I'm 6'5 and fit just fine. I've flown with a guy that was 6'8"

It sucks on RJ's. Always hitting my head on everything. Mainline aircraft really aren't an issue unless I'm in the back of a 757 with the old TV's hanging from the ceiling. Crack my head on those every time.

Have friends flying that are as short as 4'10" and as tall as 6'7". Commercial jets accommodate all sizes.

6'5 1/2" works on all Boeings although it's uncomfortable on the 737's. I've seen 6'7" guys do it too.

Stick with your dream and you'll make it. Hopefully some day you will be able to cuss out those jerks at Boeing who decided on the engineering of the 737 cockpit.

Also, avoid Chief Pilot's 5'5" and under. :)

You aren't that tall dude...

Don't worry kid. You're not too tall that any Chief Pilot, nor F/A can't manage or handle.

Keep on plugging, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

There are definitely no restrictions pertaining to height in the States, I don't think there are any in the UAE either.

Good Luck!

6'4" here. I've worked in everything from a C-152 to the B-777. No problems.

You will be ok in the USA, but for the EU you need to learn to slouch and bend your knees a little bit.

You can drop 2 or 3 cm just by posture and positioning.
Once hired it should no longer be an issue. I do not recall any medical mandated maximum height.
