United CEO Tilton to Speak at ABA Forum on Air & Space Law Conference

CHICAGO, Jan. 8, 2007 – Glenn Tilton, chief executive officer and president of United Airlines, will be a keynote luncheon speaker at the annual update conference of the American Bar Association Forum on Air and Space Law on Feb. 1 at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington, D.C. After overseeing the $23 billion restructuring and return to profitability of United, Tilton will provide firsthand insight into recovery of the aviation industry, speaking on “Winds of Change: Cleared for Takeoff?”.

"We're very pleased to have Glenn Tilton join us at our annual gathering of top air and space lawyers during this dynamic time of change," said Forum Chair Capt. David Hayes.

Other expert panelists and pressing issues to be featured during the 2007 Update Conference include Kenneth Feinberg, special master of the federal September 11 Victim’s Compensation Fund, addressing the latest in aviation litigation; John Byerly, with the U.S. State Department, and Daniel Calleja, director of the European Commission’s Air Transport Directorate, discussing opportunities and challenges in international aviation, including the recent European proposal to cover aviation with emissions trading; and Michael Wholley, NASA’s general counsel, and Patricia Grace Smith, administrator for commercial space transportation with the Federal Aviation Administration, providing insight into the future of space ventures.
