Default OMC Listing YYZ

I'm an OAL employee, at the counter in YYZ trying to list myself as an OMC for a flight to EWR.
The UA employee travel phone line is down and the agents at the counter are extremely incompetent and can't figure it out. (It's YYZ so I can't go to the gate because I need to pre-clear customs.). Any suggestions/ ideas?

I'm sure this info is a little late. No matter what a UA agent tells you, OAL have no way of listing ahead of time for OMC or jumpseat on United.

That's what I kept telling them. It took them 3 hours to figure it out, but eventually I got myself a BP.
(I missed the first flight i could have gotten on, which had plenty of room; got bumped off the second just now; and now I'm waiting for 2 hours before the next one.)

Also the agents had no helpful info on how to avoid the hassle in the future! So that was kinda nice. /sarcasm.
I guess I'll show up 4 hours in advance next time, because 2.5 wasn't enough today.

I went through the same thing in Calgary a couple months ago.

By the time they figured it out I had 5 minutes to get through customs and security, so I didn't ever hear what they did to make it work.

I am a commuter out of YYZ... United agents are terrible. Every single occasion they have no clue on how to list me at the ticket counter... For this matter 75% of the time ORD agents, when trying to get listed to YYZ, are just as terrible.

The only way I have found to get listed is using the id90 website and paying a zed fare, normally $80 instead of the normal $60 in taxes only. It is frustrating and I have never managed to get them to figure out how to list a jumpseater.

Yeah seems that paying the ZED is the painless way out. I don't do it as much as you if you commute, but I'm going to try the recommendation next time and just ask for the manager straight away. Hopefully he/she will know what to do and save me some agony.

I commuted out of canada for a long time. Go to a gate agent at a hub who's not working a flight (and not a douche), and ask them to write down the entires for listing you as a jumpseater. Then you can take these entries and give them to the idiot subcontractors working the desk. (That's what I had to do for years. By the time you teach one person, they'll quit or be fired and you'll find some new trainee that has no clue).

You should have tried going over to the DL counter. I did that in YUL, flew into JFK and just took the train over to EWR. The UA ticket counter was pretty useless.

Good to see they still stink. I used to fly regularly out of YYZ and it was always a nightmare (Continental days).

Upon getting to YYZ I would ask an ops agent about it....who to talk to when I intend to leave etc. Invariably it turned into a cluster at the counter days later.
