Out of Domicile Open Time pick ups
I was curious if any other airlines allowed the pilots to drop their schedule in domicile and pick up open time trips from a different domicile, effectively bypassing seniority and rebuilding an entirely new schedule at a domicile they could not hold.

Yes, at Southwest you can do that at any time. you can pick up pilot-to-pilot trip trade and giveaway from any domicile and also bid on open time from any domicile. Although, guys in that domicile have priority over non-domicile bidders.

Why dont you ask this on the SpiritofNKS topic? There you can explain to us why it was OK for you to fly LAS trips but we cant fly FLL trips.

At DAL, you can pick up out of base trips but you typically have to wait for the call on short notice (earliest is day before) when all other in base folks have bypassed or are not available. You can't go into open time and grab/bid trips. I got called for both normal and premium pay trips around holidays before getting assigned in base.
You can drop your whole schedule for the month if there is sufficient reserve coverage on the days of your trips.

Anyone know how United does this? Could you also drop the entire month's schedule if there was coverage in BES?

At Delta, if it's beyond 12 hours:
1. Pilots who submitted trip recovery slips,
2. White slips (min 5.15 per day) in seniority order,
3. Long call reserve pilots (>12 hours)
4. Short call reserve pilots (<12 hours)
5. Reserve pilots who request the trip, yellow slip, and that trip will at some point be on their off day.
6. Out of base white slips (in seniority order)
7. Out of base long call reserve pilots with stipulations.
8. Out of base short call reserve pilots.
9. Reserve pilots long call pilots who would have the next trip touch their days off in the following month and that month they're regular pilots,
10. Reserve pilots short call who... same as #9
11. Out of base same as #9
12. Out of base same as #10
13. Long call reserve pilot who next month has a line and the trip would conflict with that line trip,
14. Short call, same as #13
15. Out of base long call, same as #13
16. Out of base short call, same as #14
17. Pilots who submitted green slips (i.e. double time pay).
18. Instructors who submitted GSs.
19. Out of base pilots who have submitted GSs.
Goes on for a total of 29 options.
Now if the trip goes out in < 12 hours
1. Pilots who submitted recovery slips,
2. Regular pilots who submitted white slips,
3. Long call reserve pilots who submit yellow slips and the trip would interrupt at some point their off days,
4. Out of base regular line pilots on white slips,
5. Short call reserve pilots,
6. Out of base long call reserve pilots who same as #3,
7. Out of base short call reserve pilots,
8. Short call reserve pilots where next month is a regular line and this trip would interrupt their day off in that regular line month,
9. Out of base short call same as #8,
10. Short call reserve pilots where the trip would touch a regular line trip they have in the following month,
11. Out of base reserve pilots same as #10,
12. Pilot who submits green slips,

Elaborating on what Thunder said...
At SWA we cannot "drop" trips. We have to post them for give-away in the hopes that another pilot will pick them up. Give-away trips go first-come, first serve with no regard for seniority or domicile.
For company open-time trips, out-of-domicile pilots are junior to all in-domicile pilots regardless of system seniority.
So the challenge boils down to trying to give away your trips out of the junior base (which few will want unless they are turns or 2-day trips, preferably off the weekends), then trying to find trips available for give-away out of your desired (presumably more senior) domicile, which are harder to come by because the domicile is senior. Our Lance Captains (capt-qualified FOs) live this drama every month between seats (and possibly domiciles, too) as they try to get rid of their FO trips and pick up CA trips where possible.
Now with the increased seasonality of our schedules throughout the year (and the corresponding manning shifts), the balance between ease of giving-way and ease of picking-up is constantly in flux depending upon which season of the year we're in. Plan accordingly....
