Regarding the previous poster's question on pay cuts/pay raises...I was a seven year Cptn and fairly senior in my base. After downgrading and having to move to another base (because they closed mine down), I was bidding 21% less AS AN FO in seat than I was as an AT Cptn due to losing 32% relative seniority. I'm also taking home 20-25% less pay, but I have one ex-AT Cptn friend who made 44K less last year and another who was more senior at AT who lost 60K annually.

Paint it anyway you want but a lot of us will be looking for vindication for the rest of our careers. Hope it was worth it....




So, Whacko....please tell us EXACTLY what you mean by "looking for vindication for the rest of our careers." Is it #1, #2 or #3, please let us know.
#1) Does that mean you are going to be mean to your FO's, not let them fly a single leg, not run for food for your flight attendants, give original Southwest pilots your meanest, dirtiest look when you hand over the jet in the jetway?
#2) Or does it mean you're going to pointlessly taxi slow, fly slow, not single engine taxi, run the APU continuosly at the gate, in order to waste money and "show" Gary Kelly your displeasure with the SLI?
#3) Or is it something more sinister in your tireless posts about the SWA ACQUISITION of Air Train that you are referring to?
If you choose #1 or #2 you are just an A$$ clown like most on here suspect you are. If it is anything else you need to immediately have your FAA license permanently suspended and seek psychological counseling.

Can't wait to fly with A$$ clowns like you from Air Tran. I hope you're the minority.

Pretty simple. Any chance I/we get to return the favor of your union getting together with your management to blackmail, bully and threaten us, I'll gladly take the opportunity to return. Hopefully someone #^\+s your career like your union and company #^\+ed so many of ours.

Yes we did, but don't think it's being widely implemented. I'd say 4 out of 5 Cptns I fly with DO NOT single-engine taxi. Honestly, Flt Ops and fuel savings at SWA is a joke.

Things were just great until they bought us. I already took a 20%+ pay cut, and while I'd like to move onto a legacy, I can't justify a further 60% pay cut. I'm not in my 20s anymore with no responsibilities.

It's the damned airline industry. $hit happens. Airlines go bankrupt, people get furloughed and others have had it A LOT worse than I have, BUT when it's a calculated manipulation to **** you out of your seniority and Cptn's seat not only by the other pilots' union but also their management acting as the bullies, well let's just say that not everyone is going to take it lying down. Some let it roll off their backs. Others (many) like me take it personally and are chomping at the bit to somehow help Karma be the ***** that she supposedly is.
