Jepp TC Pro vs FD Pro
Question. Any other airlines using the very basic and bare-bones Jepp TC Pro other than AA? This is the version that just has SIDS, STARs, 10-9s and approach plates. No enroute charts or 10-1As, those charts must still be carried in paper form. No flight/route planning capability.
I ask because it seems like every airline, major/LCC/regional out there is using Jepp FD except us. I'm not quite sure why we haven't upgraded yet, at first I thought it was because we have the first gen iPad 2 but then I saw other airlines Jepp FD pro running on iPad 2s so that's not it.

Our 190 guys have iPad 2s and FD Pro seems to work fine. I had a loner brick (iPad 2) for over a month and had no issued with it.

Haven't heard yet EMB. There is some sort of hang up with FD. It's just amazing to me (maybe it shouldn't be) that everyone has had FD for awhile now, meanwhile I'm still doing enroute chart paper revisions and unable to plot a route on my iPad.

If you Google the interwebs and have access to a physical jeppesen subscription DVD with a valid database
You can find the procedure to transfer the worldwide database off the DVD into the app and access the entire worldwide database on the app without a subscription.
It will work until two cycles after the expiration of the database and you'll need to get another DVD with a current database
