MSP Neighborhoods?
Wife and I are considering moving to MSP and would like to know which neighborhoods are popular with Delta pilots based there. I tried the search function, and found very little. Thanks in advance.

What do you 2 like to do? Do you want to be close to the cities? Or are you looking more cookie cutter family type suburbia living? Kids? You can PM me too if you would like.

We're a mixed bag. My 13 yr old daughter and I are into sports and outdoor things. My wife and 11 yr old son are more home-body types. I think we'd fit better in a nice suburb than we would in the midst of downtown.

South side of the cities are nice. I live in Farmington and have flown with Captains that live in Lakeville, Apple Valley, Eagan, Savage, Northfield, Cannon Falls, Jordan and Fairbault. You really can't go wrong in my opinion.

Currently live in Eagan, just southeast of MSP. Awesome school district and very nice little suburb with a 2000 acre county park that borders the city on the south side with 3-4 little lakes for canoeing, swimming ect.. PM me if you want more specifics about the area.

We live in Hudson, Wi. A lot of Delta guys on the other side of the river. 25 minutes to parking lot and lots of things to do. Great schools and lower income taxes compared to Minnesota. Absolutly love it here.

I'm a 9E pilot, but my wife and I lived in Eagan for four years and loved it. Great access to both Minneapolis and Saint Paul. Right now we currently live in Bloomington, which is a little bit more like a 1950s style suburb of Minneapolis, which we love. If you want to live in Minneapolis, I'd suggest the Nokomis area, diamond lake area, or just south of Lake Calhoun. There are some great options there with lots of character and close to MSP. If you want to shoot me a PM I can give you some details of the different neighborhoods in South Minneapolis and the surrounding suburbs. Best of luck with your search either way!

I lived until recently in apple valley for 14 years...., I agree with the south area of the cities comments..., not bad at all.
But if you like water sports and lake living (Well, the 4 months out of the year they are not frozen that is) then head west...., a little further drive but quite nice.
Enjoy the winter......, I'm done with it!

Edina. Great schools and only 10 minutes west of the airport. The houses are priced a "bit" on the higher side but really hold there value. Minnetonka or Eden Prairie are also good choices. All 3 have top notch schools.
