JB Reserve lesson learned & question

quick background: I hit the line around Memorial Day. Didn't see any Long call until September, but since September started it's been awesome! Basically exactly like the FSM says. For example; 4 day block, 1st 2 days LC, SC 3rd day, Released last day. This has been the standard for me in September. :) :)

Lesson learned: don't assume it will be like that...it may be better! I am on day 2 right now. I left the house at 10:00am to drive to KDEN to catch my commute flight - since I fly out a day early to be in position for the next day's SC. I casually checked the DRO when I got to the airport, and noticed I'm on long call tomorrow! :). I called scheduling to confirm even. I wasted 3 hrs of my life and some gas driving to the airport.

Question for those with experience at JB: Can I expect a bunch of Long Call in November and December (like ive had in September)?

If October thru December are gonna be anything like September - about only 6 days spent in Boston - I will probably bid reserve to try to maximize days at home.

Thoughts?

Assuming you're BOS E190FO, you can expect the same probably through mid-Nov. Then all bets are off.

Sept is a lul month. Enjoy it while,it lasts. A lot will depend on the training pipe. How much they backfill before scooping out the transfers and upgrades.

You might get to ride that train another month, but I would definately not expect it to last into nov or dec.

Good luck! Hope your streak lasts

Thanks all. Yes, Bos E190 (I should have said).

I'm on reserve again in October and the grid looks VERY green like September. :) :)

Maybe I'll try for a line in nov and dec.

Shhh! Reserve is horrible and nobody should ever bid it ;)

FLL Based. On RSV I didn't work June, or August. In this base at least, even busy months on RSV are awesome, if you bud right.
I'm at 80 hours for the year, and most of that is picking up trips to stay current.

Tom

Edit: Probably stay away from the bud, even on RSV.

Wait until it starts to snow. Those line holders are not gonna make their commutes and the company is going to expect the reserves to be in base and available.
