Normally I'd agree with you. After looking at Sun Country's pay and upgrade times, you would be better off financially at a regional. I'm going to go out on a limb and say work rules are probably better at most regionals too. I'm all for upward mobility, but unless Sun Country dramatically improves their pay, I would avoid them.
Since they seem to do mostly charter work, I would consider them a risky place to work even if they had a good contract. Do whatever floats your boat though. Maybe a free 737 type rating and a few hours in the plane will open some doors.
