SikPilot 01-31-2007 12:48 PM

Reminds me of the movie airplane and also didn't the old People Express pilots have to clean the plane and load luggage?

viktorbravo 01-31-2007 01:20 PM

Another reason I love Southwest. It is nice to see pilots are willing to clean windows, load baggage, ect. to help out and make it all work.

Speaking as a fighter pilot, I CANNOT STAND a bug spot on a windscreen. Anhyone who's ever done a break turn for a smudge on the side of the canopy knows what I am talking about...

I buff and polish the windscreen on my GA plane as well, and have a shammy in the hangar at standby. This guy ain't doin' this for SWA...he's doing it because he hates a dirty canopy. I get it...

I flew with a Capt. on the 727 who put Rain-X on the windows. Worked great.

Also speaking as what you describe I am not going to trash my shirt for a few bug spots. Maybe on the last day of a trip.
