30 airbus for Spirit
Hi
does anybody knows exactly the growth plan for Spirit?
How many airplanes this year, 2008,etc...?
I read 70 pilots this year. at 2 classes of 8 per month. thats about 4 months of hiring.
My question is: are they gonna be done hiring for 2007 in april ( thats approximately 4 months for now)
I have a good internal recommendation but I only have 2320 total time and should have 2500 hours by mid march. I am wondering if I could get an interview around March.
thanks

I think we have 2-3 AC more coming by March. 1 more by the end of the year.
A WHOPPING 39 AC? Whew! I started here 6 years ago next week. You know how many we had then? Around 32!!!
OK, enough. Yes the word is we are going to grow, and FLY ALOT. Haiti(SCARY!), Caracus(sp?), St. Marteen. Guyana (sp?) {you know they like Kool Aid}, etc...
30 AC from Airbus (Velocipede; Airbii, or Airbuses, Airbus'?) start to be delivered in 2009 (long time away!).
Good luck though. Even though I bit@# about it, I still love going to work. Most are fun to fly with, overall good place. (STAY AWAY FROM FLL!!!)
Also, last I heard from the Chief himself, don't worry about the stated minimum times. Recommendations are a HUGE help.

Once again congrats. Saw J.J. Sat. night at a Capt's retirement party (BIG turnout!)
As far as the Kool Aid, that was a reference to "Jonestown". (Guayana). But there is some mighty fine Kool Aid being passed around here. I am drinking in moderation. Some are getting drunk on it.
It is a fine place to work at, now that we got rid of some Upper Management that always had a doom and gloom story for us.
Anyway, see you around campus.

Yeah... I know the Jim Jones/Jonestown thing
But as whole everyone seemed very pleased to be working there from what I saw. JJ has been giving me the scoop and I am looking forward to what ever they have in store. If all turns out true, it sounds that great things are in order
I can not wait
Still on reserve?

Actually watching the weight, now chasing with Miller Lite! But my buddy "Jack" is still around.
Breck, will be for at least a little while longer. Still waiting for a few to go/get through upgrade, then I will no longer be on the BOTTOM!!!
But, better on the bottom of the left list, than the top of the right (if you live in base like I do. Money and QOL)

Just curious, this filing ( http://www.transtats.bts.gov/Oneway....Percent_Flag=0) shows roughly a 42 million dollar loss thru Sept of 06. While I hope it is a simply a blip on the road to long term prosperity, and wish nothing but the best for Spirit, when you are thinking of taking a job here how does this enter your thought process? Also, when you speak of new routes and aircraft, company cool-aid and such, do you feel this type of financial performance is sustaniable?
Please accept these as actual questions from a curious mind; I have ridden on your airline several times this year and feel you produce a quality product and that you have much to be proud of.

Glad you enjoy riding with us.
As far as losses, we are privately held (for now), so what ever they say as far as losing?...
I am sure we did lose money though, because of the transition to the Airbus.
But now, all the 80 pilots have transitioned over, and we are getting money from investors.
