Nuts!
I've been reading the book Nuts about SWA and I will have to say it is pretty interesting. Seems like they really strive to hire people that are unique and original. Is that still the case today? Do you think if a qualified pilot walked in to their interview wearing the shorts they talked about in the book they would just laugh and send you on your way or would they actually consider you? It even said that some filled out their application in crayon, and some sent it in a cereal box. If some of you SWA guys did something out of the ordinary and got hired, or not I would be interested in hearing your story.

And on a side note you think I would get away with farting in the interview????

The nuts image is a PR game, period. SWA is not desirous of a rolling cockpit circus, they only wan't a reliable airline that doesn't crash many airplanes. All the folks I've seen hired at SWA, if not on the "straight and narrow" were normal people, who applied in normal ways, who had kept their nose clean, and were of reasonable, pleasant temperment. The "nutty" guys all came back from DAL without a job.
