Had a good convo with United. She asked me what makes me better than the other guys. Fedex told me more PIC time and get a management job. Delta asked me how many checkride failures and driving records. Was hoping to have a good convo with AA but my guy seemed a little indifferent that I was a former intern there. Don't you guys just love spending all this money to do an interview to get an interview?
Also talked with FAPA, Aero Crew, and Centerline. I probably got the best advice from them as they critiqued my resume. Centerline even had resume paper and printers ready to go to make a change or two at the last minute, which was pretty nifty. I feel like I'm going to have to pay one of these guys to look at my apps as well.
Overall, I was happy with the job fair. It seemed to go smoothly, and I didn't have to wait too long.

I went to a few of the ADPE interview prep classes they had, which I felt were beneficial, got my resume reviewed and sat down with AA. This was my first conference, so I spent all 3 days there. Wednesday and Thursday were a mob scene and most of the majors were overbooked with appointments made online when people registered. Unfortunately I was unable to reserve an appt online when I registered. AA told me on Wednesday that they were overbooked and had to cancel a lot of their appts. I bugged them every day. Ironically it was a ghost town on Friday and by 10AM I was able to get a walk up to AA.
Questions from AA were, "Why AA?", "Why should we hire you over all the other military guys we've seen this week?", "What challenges do you expect transitioning from the military to the airlines and how would you deal with those challenges?". Shot the $hit for a few minutes about the ANG/Reserves and that was that. He wrote something on my resume (could have been, "This guy sucks!" for all I know... lol) and gave it to one of their HR ladies that was there.
Overall, I enjoyed it. I don't think I'll go to any more of them though.

But it seemed to be a crapshoot in terms of who you end up talking too. the advise was all over the place and often polar opposite to what other people heard from the same airline....
At the end it is a marketing event for the majors/legacies and it is in their best interest to string everyone along as they don't know when they may need us....
