Sky,

If Alaska's HR could read your posts on how bad you want to work at Alaska I bet they would offer you a job on the spot.

I too wore the Alaska rose colored glasses. 4 years in the bush and I also worked at QX. Believe me, the honeymoon doesn't last long. I wouldn't beat yourself up. My advice: Get on with Aloha, and after the merger you can bid up to Seattle.

Thanks, I haven't thought of Aloha for a while. Are they merging with Hawaiian or someone else?

SkyHigh, I'm sure this has been asked and answered, but my legendary memory is failing me today. Did you recently apply at AS? If so, did they call you in? If HR called you tomorrow, would you go?

Again, I apologize if this ground has been gone over. As you know, I too am in SEA and count an AS MD80 captain as a friend, so I am very interested in your (and everyone else on APC) professional progress, particularly when it comes to Alaska.

I have had an application on file with Alaska Airlines in many forms and formats for most of the last ten years. My last interview was in Jan of 2002. Currently I have my information on file with them via their web site and I update it often. Alaska Airlines is notorious for having several routes to apply. My current one is on the lowest order.

Obviously you really don't want to be there either. This is starting to sound like someone standing on a bridge yelling, " stand back or I'll jump!" Either jump or step away.

I don't get what you are saying, please elaborate.

What I meant by that statement was that I don't have access to the inside routes to apply. My avenue of application lies at the front door with everyone else. I don't have a silver bullet.

To paraphrase; "Your current one is on the LOWEST order." Find the HIGHEST order! I'm a Boeing Field "rat" and I personally know about 20 Alaska guys and I've never worked for AAG. You HAVE to know people there. What about the former QX guys you worked with?

Thanks for the guidance. I do know people there however they are not among the powerful and realise as well as I do that I am not very competitive under the current situation.
