Default Commuter Policy

Just wondering if most Legacies and/or LCC have commuter policies. I know most regionals have something in place if you can't get to work bc of WX/MX that you are held liable, albeit you'll lose pay for whatever you can't cover.

At UAL you need 2 flights that get you there before report time. If you don't make the first one, they can choose to give you positive space on second one, depending on what kind of coverage they have if you don't make it. They will also often provide positive space for all commuters leading up to major weather events being forecast at the hubs.

Spirit has basically the same policy as United that was described above. Ours can be on any airline and states you must arrive in domicile prior to report time.

SWA is 1 SWA flight that gets in by report time or 2 OAL flights which get in an hour prior to report.

at DL you need 2 flights, in order to be positive spaced on the second one it has to be on delta or delta connection.

I will also add that they will either positive space you, remove you from the trip without pay. There's no limit on how many time you can use the commuter policy.

Jetblue's commuter policy mirrors SWA with 1 B6 flight scheduled to arrive at least 1hr before report time or 2 OAL/B6 flights scheduled to arrive anytime before report time and with enough seats available for your applicable standby priority.

Allegiant is 2 flight attempts that would arrive before report time. Commuting and 1 day trips don't mix well though.

But now it's an out of position so you are still potentially disciplined. My regional was HANDS OFF as long as you tried 2 flights and had proof you tried.....JETBLEW....not so much.

What are the RAMIFICATIONS of using the commuter policy or "clause at other majors.
