Default search for my uncle James A Eckols

I am seeking information
about my uncle James A Eckols. He flew for Ozark Airlines out of St Louis Missouri in the mid sixties, 1965 to 1968 I believe. The last time I saw him was 1966.

He and my aunt Louise got divorced sometime around 1970. She recently passed away and would never talk about him. I would like to know what became of him and if he may still be alive. I don't know his exact age but he would have to be in his late eighties or ninety years old by now. He was always very nice to me and I would like to know what became of him.

He appears to be passed away:

Silver Swallows

From other hits I got he was very active with the Union, I think even the MEC Chairman of the Ozark Pilot's Union. Many of the links require a subscription to get the info thou.

Default Jim Eckols

I see his name on the Silver Swallows. Thank you for taking the time to inform me. I assumed he had passed but never knew for sure. He gave me a trunk of his old books when I was young. Tom Sawyer, Black Beauty. Tom Swifts Adventures etc. I read them repeatedly. How could I find out when he passed and where?

I only found 1 James A. Eckols' death record that was anywhere close to the right age:

James A Eckols
Birth Date 7 Feb 1932
Death Date 7 Dec 1998
Death Location Lukeville, AZ, 85341

I could not find any other info like an obituary.

See if the Silver Swallows have any contact info, or you could try contacting ALPA. Ozark was merged into TWA in 1986, then TWA was bought by American in 2001. American was not an ALPA carrier, their union is Allied Pilot's Association (APA).

Here's some websites you should check out:

https://www.silverswallows.com/?page_id=69

https://www.facebook.com/groups/76709799981/about/

I'd probably try Facebook's Silver Swallows page first.

Exclamation James A Eckols was my father

Hello pweee,

My name is Sarah Eckols Johnson and I was googling my dad's name and found this thread that you were seeking information about him. I know his first wife was named Louise but I never knew much about her. Daddy married my mother in 1971. She was a flight attendant for Ozark and they were married for about 17 years. Daddy passed away in a car accident on December 7th, 1998 in Yuma, AZ. Today, February 7th, would be his 87th birthday. It's so wonderful to hear how nice he was to you, he really was a wonderful man and amazing dad. I have an older sister, named Jenny and we were so lucky to have him for our 21 and 24 yars of life. Feel free to reach out to my email address [email protected] or I am also on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/seckolsjohnson if you want to chat more. I can send you pictures and would love to hear your stories as well
