Default FedEx MD-11 captain passes away

I heard on the crew bus today that an MD-11 captain died during a checkride while airborne. Anyone have any info?

I don't work at FedEx but I heard it was in the simulator. FWIW. Just a rumor here.

There's an FCIF out today about an MD11 CA dying in the afternoon yesterday in Memphis. That's all that is mentioned. Of course his name was mentioned but I'll that out here.

This is a very sad day for the aviator's family & friends.

I am disgusted by comments from Giggity and (especially) seaaviator. Uncalled for, unnecessary, and unacceptable. I really hope neither of you work at FedEx.

Mike was a good dude. He was 59 and died in the SIM during his CMV2.

Prayers out to his family.

I am sorry for the incredible Loss to Mike's family! Raise a glass tonight and toast a brother in arms flying west!

As far as any so called rapier wit comments.... this isn't about the age 60 rule, seniority, or open time flyers! This is a tragedy! If you can't show due respect.... then shut your gaping hole!

Guys (and gals), let's be respectful.

RIP to the involved and may God grant the family peace and comfort in this time.

Horrible news. I hope he passed quickly and that those in the sim with him are doing ok. I imagine that was a very difficult afternoon.
