Former Mesaba Pilot Kevin Roche passed away
 

I just wanted to let friends and co-workers know of fellow pilot Kevin Roche's recent passing. He had been fighting cancer for several years but lost the fight last night. He was a union rep at Mesaba, and a check airman when I knew him. We only flew together once when he signed me off for Aspen training in the Avro. He was larger than life, passionate, and funny. He is survived by his wife, Wendy, and 2 beautiful children. He left Mesaba for Delta some years back, and I believe he was diagnosed within his probationary year. I didn't know him beyond the trip I flew with him, but his absence is heavy on my heart. God bless you, Kevin, and thanks for fighting the good fight. Great is your reward in heaven.

First Officer Kevin Roche, a former Council 20 member, passed away on December 21st after a three year battle with cancer. He is survived by wife, Wendy; children, Kyle and Sophia. He was an avid outdoorsmen and hockey fan. Kevin was also proud to be a pilot for Mesaba, Northwest, and Delta Air Lines. His life will be celebrated on Friday, December 30th at 11 am at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 7600 Cahill Avenue East, Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Memorials are preferred to the Kevin Roche Memorial Trust at Wells Fargo Bank. Kevin requested that pilots attend in uniform.
