Patrick Murphy RIP (Pinnacle)
#2
What a great loss... Pat was a great pilot and even greater individual. He was always smiling and friendly.
The first time I flew with him, 2 things went through my head: First: Wow, that's a big dude. Second: This guy is really friendly and is a really good pilot!
He will be missed by all that knew him.

My last interaction with Murph was a memorable one. He was down in the operations area in Detroit a few years ago expressing how the recent new hires at several different carriers were getting on the airlinkpilots.com message board and bragging about getting out of Pinnacle. He stated that when he left Pinnacle noone would ever hear about it, he would just dissappear. I remember thinking, yeah right, You're "Murph", we'll know when you leave. There will be a void that can never be filled. Well that "void" is there, I'm sure... I left Pinnacle 13 months ago, and did so quietly, partly because of that conversation. RIP Murph... You'll be missed!!!

I worked with Murph in his pre-9E years and shared an apartment with him for a few months. After that I didn't see him much except for the occasional run in with him in the DTW crewroom, when I was at XJ.
He was a big guy with a big heart and always the smile on his face. Sometimes it was more of a mischievous smirk, but a smile nonetheless.
You will be missed, Murph.

What a shock, I knew Murph while flying with Pinnacle out of DTW he was my f/o during his OE. we flew often after that. He was in my book a capt from his first flight. He was the type of guy you just don't ever forget, miss you buddy! Picture taken 9/28/2001 6:21pm it was at the end of a long day and longer month, he finished his 100 hours OE on this flight
