John Sheardown

Noted for sheltering Americans during the Iran hostage crisis, he also flew Lanc's in WWII and served in Korea. Apparently the recent movie minimized or ignored the Canadian embassy's involvement, but many of us remember this fellow's (and his colleagues') help. RIP, sir, and thank you. Well done.

That was not my impression.
I learned of the Canadian's involvement from that movie and then read more on my own.
RIP John Sheardown and thank you, and the many others, for your courage and assistance.
