Default FY21 Q4 Blood Bath (2022+ Predictions)

Everyone is still losing money and the economy is looking shaky. Consolidation through M&A seems inevitable. Anyone have any educated guesses as to what we may see going forward?

Allegiant buys Delta and staples them.

Okay, but seriously I do see consolidation at the ULCC level. NK & F9 make a lot of sense.

Jetblue and AA? Could there be more to the NEA code share? Not too much overlap there as well…

I don’t see this being sanctioned by the DOT, but who knows? Why not AA and Alaska too, if you’re basing it on alliances alone?

Because AA is weak in the northeast, the highest yielding market in the country. Jetblue’s assets and network is arguably more valuable to AA.

Unlikely that AA could buy B6 right now, given their state of disarray. Maybe B6 could buy AA... minnows swallowing whales in now an AA tradition.

An AS/B6 merger would be more palatable to the regulators. Maybe throw HAL in there somewhere.

Not all airlines are bleeding out. The party continues in cargo.
