Default Fortune Magazine Article - Makes it sound good for Pilots

Nice read,

http://money.cnn.com/2008/02/20/news...ion=2008022115

God forbid people pay more for an airline ticket. Should we just ask the customers if they would rather pay more for an airline tickets at their current wages or pay the same price but at their equivalent 1990 wage.

I can't remember the last time I paid more than $300 for a ticket across the U.S. People should understand that if the cost to operate their own automobile to work has tripled.....they should equally expect the same for an airline ticket. We don't see Exxon or Mobile fighting to keep gas at $1.00 / gallon so we keep people traveling. Yeah...no one wants to pay more for fuel, but if they are faced to deal with it at the pump then the same should apply for airline transportation. It is simply passing on costs.

You have to look at the source of the story. Fortune magazine has never published a story that sheds a favorable light on labor. They (the editors)hate this deal because the airline managements are playing nice-nice with the "little people". To me, if it's published in Fortune it's not much better than if it were published in the tabloids. JMHO
