Delta Pilots Rejects Arbitration With Northwest Pilots
#81
I don't claim to know which Airline is in a better position to operate as a stand-alone company....or even if either of them is in the current economic environment. However, you do have to wonder why with today's announcement, it seems like NWA management is trying harder to keep the merger hopes alive (unless it's as simple as the chance that Steenland gets a sweetheart "going away" package if the deal is consumated).

Sadly, I think that ship has sailed. We had our opportunity to secure equity, raises, retirement enhancement, etc., but that was squandered. Now, like employees of any merger we may simply get handed the proverbial sh*$ sandwich and be told to like it.

I'm curious what effect 1,000 uniformed DAL and NWA pilots with an inflatable rat marching around the G.O. would have on Cerebus, Pardus and the rest of the three headed dogs guarding the gates of hell...
Maybe this is just the Redneck in me, but I'm thinking a couple thousand pilots could take on the hedge fund mutt, no matter how fancy a name they took from Greek Mythology. I'd like to at least hear some discussion of why we are not getting spun up.... The weather is nice, perfect for walking in circles.

But rats would be offended

Cerberus - 3-Headed Hound of Hades
Definition: The three-headed, serpent-tailed dog Cerberus was the offspring of Echidna and Typhon. In Hesiod's Theogony, Cerberus had not three, but fifty heads.
Cerberus was a fierce, pitiless, flesh-eating watchdog, stationed by the River Styx, from which post he would keep the living from entering the land of the dead. Even the gods feared Cerberus, but Hercules (Heracles), for his 12th Labor, had to kidnap the three headed dog and bring him to King Eurystheus. Vergil included in his Aeneid a trip to the Underworld, in which it was necessary for the Roman hero, Aeneas, to get past Cerberus. In Book VI of the Aeneid, the Sibyl threw tranquilizers to each of the three heads of Cerberus so Aeneas could pass in safety.
Orpheus and Psyche were two other mortals who managed to get by Cerberus.
Also Known As: Hell Hound, Hound of Hades

HEY! No mythology lessons allowed. Only pointless circular arguing of who's airline is better!
(Actually, it's nice to finally see something posted which has some enlightening value around here)
Now the end the thread hijacking:
MY HELL HOUND HAS MORE SENIORITY AND VALUE THAN YOUR'S!

My Hell Hound is a wide body and he's still less than a year old! He runs all over the planet and his poo smells of freshly cut roses.
