Sailingfun,

I hope you are right. I hope both sides will allow calmer heads to prevail and we can collectively work in building a stable and profitable airline.

I hope so too, but our MEC just sent us a letter saying they are going to aggressively oppose this merger now.fwiw

They had to say that. Negotiations are going to resume shortly. They need to maintain some sort of leverage.

We can still work this thing out. The "seperate deal" that DALPA just signed should never have to take effect if our two MECs can get together and figure this thing out. DALPA only did what it did to make sure there are some returns for us. The merger was going to be announced with or without us.

Management wants the NW pilots on board. Badly. DALPA wants the NW pilots on board. Badly. There's more money with you guys on board. Let's do it!

Well said, we have more power working together than separately.

Good luck to us all and lets hope the new airline turns out to be a powerhouse!
And somewhere, off in the distance towards MSP and DTW, Steals and Crofts can be heard strumming "Summer breeze, makes me feel fine, blowing through the jasmine in my mind".

And we all collectively mellow and rest easy that no furloughs are going to happen, fleets will be maintained, and sweet destinations such as Grand Forks from the north and Mobile from ATL will still be served by the venerable noise of the JT8s. It's been a LONG time since I had to do a noise abatement departure, I'm just hoping it will still be a long time.
