I'm standing down
I started posting on these threads because I wanted to get the other side's point of view, as well as explain my viewpoint. What I read here leads me to believe that, for most of us, our ideas of what is fair is not all that different.
I've realized now that the prior negotiations had no written record by design; the MECs wanted no paper trail to foul the waters of more traditional negotiations, and the possible subsequent arbitration.
We're debating the issues armed with incomplete information. This is causing tempers to flare, and the gulf between us to widen. I'm guilty of this also. All too often, I'll respond to a post without really reading what the other side has posted; I'm not the only one doing this. Our MECs have all of the data. I'm going to let them do their job.
I think that a deal is within reach, and that the combined company will prosper enough to improve all of our careers. I look forward to working with the NWA guys on the line.

CVG,
I agree. I called my reps and told them that we should take the higher path and endeavor to work together. The myopic view is DAL vs NWA. The bigger picture is that we are on the same team and hopefully create a stable airline!

dtfl-this is a good thread why turn this into another worthless thread? enough with the flames from both sides.
Great idea guys. Bottom line is we dont have all the facts and lets hope both of our MECs can start working together. Cheers
