Seattle-Beijing. Just within the last week.

But, please. Let's not start a "my airline is better than your airline" or a "we are adding more routes than you" thing. It really gets us nowhere.

When do we stop arguing amongst ourselves?

Amen to that, thus is not going to be the best year for either company, let's get it together and move on down the road.Where are the airplanes coming from to flt DBX daily and Kuwait city ? We're not supposed to get 777's until Dec. I'm confused.

My post really wasn't meant like it sounds. I was genuinely curious. FWIW I agree with you.. let's get on with it, and build an airline that can succeed in spite of scumbag oil speculators.

I agree. Let's get on with it. & let's find the oil speculators and run over them with our airplanes.

I hope they are not who I think they are.

Buy the cheap pearls on Canal St. in NYC then tell them you got them from CAN. For every "no" there will be a Pinnacle Flt. Att. that says "yes, but only in the woods".

What a great article! Takes "going green" to a whole new level. I'm more of a hotel guy at heart

We were getting 8mm pearls, 18 inches long and a set of ear rings for around $35. Our usual shop is still sucking up the sinking exchange rate, but that won't last forever.

Come on out........we'll give ya the "tour". "Jake, whatcha gonna do, it's China Town".

Carl, your little inferiority complex is wearing thin. I don't know any DAL pilots that trivialize what NWA brings to this party. It is all self induced on YOUR part. What is interesting is that when the argument suits you, it's woe is me... DAL doesn't think NWA brings anything... and on the other hand... all DAL wants is our routes and airplanes.
DALPA has an incredible amount of control over this process. As I've said many times before, if DALPA stalls the talks then all furloughs will be borne on the NWA side because of LOA 19. Many DAL folks here have said that won't happen....DALPA is only interested in getting a deal as quickly as possible. What has actually happened thus far? Nothing but stalling - in my opinion. Exactly what I feared would happen. With LOA 19, the infrastructure is in place to get NWA with the fewest number of pilots possible. Last time around, we negotiated a common contract in about 3 days. Now we've waited for over a month just to set a date for talks, and now that 3 days of talks have ensued, still no agreement at all. Can you say stalling??

My prediction is that stalling will be the name of the game going forward. The stalling will stop when all the necessary domestic cutbacks are finished with combined airline, all the NWA pilots that can be furloughed are furloughed, then DALPA will be ready to integrate a seniority list. I really hope I'm wrong, but the actions of DALPA thus far keep showing me that this is the plan.

By the way tsquare, I've never said that DALPA trivializes what NWA brings to this party - quite the contrary. I've said that all DAL wants is the Pacific routes and the 3.5B in cash while placing the maximum number of NWA pilots on the bottom of a combined SLI. I'll look forward to ANY evidence that DALPA is not pursuing this strategy.

Carl

Last time around (the February Negotiators TA that was never presented to your MEC, much less approved by your MEC) took nearly 6 weeks to produce (January 11-February 21), not the 3 days you describe. That was done when oil was $90-$105 per barrel, not $135. Back then the parties were talking about taking part of the profits from the merged company. The scenario now is one of management trying to minimize the losses of the merged company. That's a significantly more difficult negotiation.

Of course, there are still members of the NWA team that think that DALPA made up all the deadlines to get a pre-merger deal done.
