I'm more concerned with getting to work, PERIOD. With the combined pilot group, we now have thousands more pilots and their wives and daughters who have DOH on us.
Nothing against anyone's family...but my opinion is I (and every other employee) should get on an airplane before someone's wife or kid, regardless of their Dad's/Hubby's DOH. "I" work at the company, not them, and I am trying to get to work to fly an airplane so they can Non-Rev on it.

Much of what you say is perhaps accurate in a sound economy. I have been around long enough to know that the DAL pilots will sign on the dotted line once the sales job starts.
Who would have thought a group would sign-off on a 32% pay-cut followed by another 14%, terminated pension, more and bigger rj's, etc.........
It could be sold like this:
More growth the sooner we capture synergies
More airframes are on the way, in addition to the ones we already know about.........
Can't tell you that, it's confidential, have seen the business plan, I promise the lack of pay increase will be made up by the growth and movement we will see. (see above)
Get the idea. Not saying it is right or wrong, just illustrating how the TA could be presented.
It'll pass 60/40, my opinion of course.

Hypothetically only, since it appears this isn't the case, but do you think we'd sign off on "LOA 19 Minus" in the interest of unity and all that, if the MEC sold it as the best we could get under current economic conditions?

For a second there, I thought I was on the DALPA boards... Definitely see truth to your point.

Next, we print the ticket jackets with "If it ain't Boeing, I ain't going". The business traveler will relish being able to take a carry on actually on an airplane. We then show propaganda films on the Boeings showing old communist footage of long lines, surly employees, etc. The header will read "Delta Connection". We then show old U.S. propaganda footage from the '40s showing happy employees going to work, productive, energetic. The header will read "The new Delta Mainline". Peace will prevail. Doves will follow Carl wherever he flies. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh......................

Hey I'm a die hard Boeing guy too. I mean I really don't want to have to press CTRL+ALT+DELETE to get my airplane to go around in rotten weather, I'd reather push the throttles, uh.. thrust levers. But, have you ever ridden on one of those airbags? From a passenger perspective, they are quite nice actually. Lots more room than a Boeing.
