NWA/DAL Joint Info

I have flown both Boeing and Airbus and I can say without a doubt the Airbus is much nicer from a passenger standpoint. As far as a pilots perspective Boeing is really missing the boat by not going to sidestick controls verses a yolk. The Airbus products also make training from one type to another a breeze...... But for shear fun of flying Boeings win.
No thanks.. I'll keep the yoke. I know the tray table is nice, but airbus has removed just about everything that identifies our place of work as a cockpit, now they make it more like a video game. I know you bus drivers like it and all... it just ain't for me.

Joint contract Details
Greenslip pay at 2x pay. Starts at 75 or average line value whichever is less.
2% increase in DC. 1% in 2011 and 1% in 2012.
Max # short call reserve days to 6 from 8 / mo.
Amendable date of 2012.
Here's my 2 cents worth (which is about 20% of my adjusted gross income): I voted no on LOA 19 and will likely vote no on this. We need to get some balls. "We" meaning every commercial pilot out there.
I just got registered on this forum due to some problems registering, but have been following it for awhile. My history is this: Flew for AMR Eagle from 1991 - 1997. Been with Delta since Jan 07. Seniority # 3889. Currently 737-800 CA in LAX (soon to be DC9 FO - DTW).
I'm not opposed to this merger. I'm not opposed to NW and Delta pilots' both interests being addressed. What is really making my blood pressure rise is the fact that we are giving the company all the tools they need to get this merger done and we see nothing until 2009. 2% increase in DC by 2012, but extending the amendable date by three years! The non contract employees got 3% raise now. Hmmm
I don't know what Kool-Aide Moak is enjoying with his smoke but I sure could use some now.

I know you meant Jan 97, right?
Otherwise you're going to scare all of the NWA guys...

And when you got a 1.5% bump in Jan of 08 and one in Jan 07, what did the non-contract employees get? Do you know or care? If the answer is "I don't care," which a lot of pilots say, don't be suprised when the non-contract employees don't give a rip about what happens to us. They can screw up this airline just as badly as we can, if they figure out how much power they do have.

ALPA is broken as it currently stands and needs to be fixed. The bickering amongst ourselves is one of the biggest problems. Back to my statement about our increases being effective Jan 2009 and non union getting 3% now. I never implied that they should not get a raise. My point is that our raises need to take effect now or concurrent with the other employees. Don't try to mark me against them or anyone for that matter.

I'm on the side of people who show some respect for my spouse, (a non-contract employee,) instead of treating them like some kind of annoyance they have to put up with at work. You ever wonder why you can fly a 5+ hour leg and never get a call from the back to see how you are doing? You can thank the A-hole who flew the leg prior to you and pee'd the whole cabin crew off with their demeaning bahaviour.

While I'm all for getting my money know, what do you think the non-contract people will get when the JPBA takes effect? Plus, if the DCC is sometime after Jan 09, the difference in pay between the JCBA and what we have now is retroactive. I've never worked anywhere where all the employee groups got a payraise together.
