Oh and my personal favorite anyone seen the new fuel savings idea that will carry the DC9 into the future?

Of all of Delta's paint jobs over the years, this one was always my favorite.

Personally I hope that any new paint does NOT include that stupid NWA arrow (pointing either NW or NE depending uppon viewing). The person that came up with that one should be shot......

I agree, and they should have left that one alone. Unfortunately, several recent CEOs felt compelled to "mark their territory" with expensive changes to the paint job. During the long transitions there was a mismatch between airplanes, and even on different areas of the same airplane, such as the famous "clown nose" version.

Actually, graphically it morphed from the old one that you could read both an N and a W on. I thought THAT one was quite clever. But graphic designers in the 90s wanted to go "cleaner" and simpler with the big graphic. So they did away with the N and W part and decided to keep the arrow pointing northwest. Nice idea except that on the other side of the aircraft it pointed northeast.. Stupid.. Gone are the logos like International Harvester (Did you see the farmer riding the tractor on that one?) and others like it. Anyway, I digress a little... I liked the "old" NWA logo... the new one was like new Coke, but I do see the idea...

I dunno.. I thought it was classic, but not necessarily all THAT great. The new one is really growing on me though. Just in time for them to scrap it and go with something new...

My girlfriend and I argued about this one night. She said it was the N/W thing, and I said it was an N with an arrow pointing NW.

I wish my life was back to the point where I could argue about stupid stuff like that...
