I agree. RA not only looks to have good intentions he also seems to have a handle on where things should go. It's nice to have someone at the helm that not only wants the airline to succeed but has the right vision to get it done. It's been a while since the airlines had managers who were managing and not figuring ways to rob the piggy bank.

Pretty eassy to show "good intentions" when somebody throws $22,000,000 bones in your personal piggy bank when you come on board the ship. Let's see what happens in a year or six.

If that happens then it is our system and I will live with it. But I am not going to help the process along with so many unknowns relating to my future.

It was possible to get a JPWA. Lets also get a good picture of how our future life will look in relation to the SLI, Seat positions, Fences etc.
Ha ha ha....this the the airline industry you are talking about...usually doesn't work that way!

I think all this resistance to change from both pilot groups. Northwest initially and now Delta will lead to some resolutions and also make the pilots more receptive to the future changes to come.

It is not a bad thing to disagree. It would lead to setting the tone for the future even if we do not win today.

I would also like to commend the Northwest pilots and flight attendents who have acted in an outstanding manner during my commute to work. Only one bad event in so many trips. Inspite of some of my positions towards the merger it is not personal and your professionalism goes a long way towards changing negative perspectives.

If I went with my heart totally I would give you guys my paycheck. It always pays to remind ourselves that this is just a message board and a place for fantasy and expressions that may not be as realistic or practical as the real world. Have fun with it but do not take it to heart. The majority of pilots do not visit this site.

And for detective superpilot92 stop calling me an African American and telling the whole world I am black bla bla. I find it slightly offensive. I know you love your company NWA but I am an AMERICAN And if you think my company is going to fire me for my veiws then you are clueless about Delta Airlines. I am easily identified courtesy of my race and the limited amounts of blacks in the Industry. If you want my name to write a letter to management or to the unions I will be happy to give it to you.

I have no fear of the consequences of a position I take once I believe in it. I did not get this far in life by always running with the crowd. I sometimes choose to be different and I am extremely principled. You may not understand all my principles. Some are a product of my background and that is not a bad word by the way Superpilot92. It is simply what it is background. But I would rather be buried alive than have any fear of you. The day I cannot freely disagree with you or anyone is a day I have no desire to see.

I know you are young and the youth shines through like a flashlight sometimes. But this is not high school and I am not running for class president. So cut out the constant he is African American pilot from Pinnacle and I may stop giving you a hard time about your youth. Lucky Bastard

Just a detour boss. Getting tired of the trend getting dragged of point by superpilot92 trying to call attention to my race to identify me.

Saw a little man in Northwest uniform peering at me the other day in Minneapolis Airport, Freak me out!!

Leaving a public message for superpilot92 about calling me an African American. Politically correct crap etc. I do not call him names like Irish, German, British American or whatever origin he comes from. To be sincere I do not give a hoot what his race is. Makes no difference to me. I am not here to make freinds or Identify racial origins.

Speedbird34 as my Identity is good enough! Leave the racial profiling or Identification out of it except you feel it is a big part of my opinion and that is the point you are driving at.

Well Speedbird i assume you are talking about my post on FI. I merely pointed out that forums arent that "anonymous". A large number of your posts on FI were condescending and hateful. It appears that once you realized you could take full credit for your posts you tamed your posts down a bit, which is good. We need to be focusing on making a strong unified pilot group and you seemed to want a Divided pilot group which is bad for everyone.

By the way just because i said African American that doesnt carry any condescending tone and shouldn't be offensive.

Give me a hard time all you want about my "youth" i dont take it negatively. Its good to be young and in my position.

Now you are reaching We already discussed this on FI via PM's. You try and label anyone who discusses race in your presence a racist.

I dont have patience for racism either and you know it. My little sister is adopted and she is Hispanic and African American. I just said her heritage does that make me a racist? Stop reaching and stop trying to label everyone a racist.

I look forward to working with all of you DAL guys/gals. Have a good day

SP, I can support you on this one. The username Speedbird34, on the FI forum, spewed several posts containing very hateful, racist, and downright offensive invective, specifically in a thread concerning OBAP and their request for an appearance at a public school in Detroit. The stuff he said would cause Rev. Wright to run for cover.

I had hoped he was a different poster than the guy with the same screen name on FI. It appears that he is not.

Sorry for the thread creep.

Back to the topic: If the company is so convinced that this merger will be so lucrative, why are they so reluctant to provide more conditional candy for all of us in this TA??? And why should we balk at trying to get some consideration in the contract now, rather than waiting 4+ years?
