Probably old info regardless, just wondering if anyone else has been hearing that. If this is the case, how do you think that will play out for junior guys trying to stay in NYC. Believe the No Bump/No Flush clause means that you cannot be displaced out of base unless your equipment is moved, again not sure if I'm interpreting that correctly. Carl |

A little bit of history if you will. On another thread there was a discussion of what happens when a fleet is moved out of a base. What is the history of the -400 base moving out of NYC? Didn't the company and ALPA come up with a LOA to avoid a system wide rebid? I was going to chime in but it was before my time and I've forgotten all the fine points from the stories. Thanks, Ferd |

About the -400 move from NYC to DTW. We had just ratified a new contract which included getting rid of the 2 CA augment. The company and the union agreed that they could move the -400 without a system wide re-bid in exchange for keeping 2 CA on augmented flights. One of the few times it was a good deal for both sides

Being a senior NWA, such as yourself, what your thoughts on the pilots at NWA with regard to changing bases. I know there is a fair amount of DAL guys who wouldn't mind bidding a base further out west, but I was wondering if NWA had a good amount of pilots looking to bid out to the east coast. I imagine the international categories/larger aircraft will probably grow more senior post-merger. I'm sure it's pretty much anyone's guess at this point, just trying to figure out the lay of the land down the road. |
Right now it sure is nice flying the 767ER out of JFK...having kind of a lock on all the interesting NYC flying. Gonna kinda stink when routes get cherry-picked to different aircraft in the spring....but interesting too. I just hope the company makes huge money so we can get our cut.
Losing JFK-CDG to Air France next month stinks. Skyteam Globalization here we come! |

Regarding the LOA to move the base without a rebid. ALPA was credited $$$ towards the total amount of concessions in return for allowing this move. The NWA MEC chairman (accompanied by Duane Woerth) gave up double CA augmentation CONTRARY to the explicit instructions of the MEC. It was given up at about 1am in the morning on the day the company threatened to file Chapter 11. We then got to vote on the concesions package at about 3-4am. We later had to buy back the double CA augmentation by extending the reduced payrates for a longer period of time.
