Well, here we go...........history repeats it's self. Red/Green, "it's mine, no it's mine.........fine see you in arbritration" Get out your check books boys, this all gets real expensive!

But, if it helps, I talked to the guy who will be the 787 fleet captain and he says the 787s are still all on the way. However, the strike looks like it will back up the in service date by maybe 6 more months. He talked about alot of things that I can't put on here (configurations and city pairs) but he just laughed and shook his head no when several of us (my capt and 2 chief pilots) asked about the news article that started this thread.

RA is a good negotiator. I am sure that his real intentions will start to become clearer in the next six to twelve months.
Either way more airframes means more jobs for the long term.

FWIW, all I have heard is maybe just maybe a three year fence on wide body flying that is it. Nothing more. Of course that was a few weeks ago, so the world may have changed again.

Hearing sort of the same things......we may be down to just "conditions and restrictions". Talked to a real smart and experienced guy, he knows 2 of the 3 arbritrators and likes them alot. Bad news for our side (NWA).........he knows and likes your lawyer better than he likes ours (our's was the Republic & US Air guy)

Don't know.

But, the guy I was talking to predicted at least 5 years of "conditions and restrictions", which he said would be a good thing. No matter how good we will get along, we will need some getting to know you time. Also, he said the NWO/Republic SOC took well over a year (I forget how long he said). So all the flight ops estimates of 8 to 12 for the SOC are probably just that.....estimates.

Lets not go there.
It will be done with every pilot in the absolute most senior position he or she can hold. That makes the 07 new hires from DAL (Feb-May) 73N FO's at best. 700 or so new guys with 623 88 slots, allows for the first few classes a slight advantage. It all depends on what is negotiated or arbitrated.

Yes, I like the arbitrators too. Our lawyer is really good as well. It is going to be interesting how this pays out.

On the SLI progress, that is about what I have heard. Lots of progress in the last week. Nothing is official until it is done though.

I think that the 12 month estimate is after DCC. We have already applied for SOC so it does shave some time off.

Ah the rumors. All of the negotiators who signed confidentiallity agreements must be talking?

Just keep pouring the gas on the fire boys.

Wait till Nov. the rumors will be really good by that time.

What will be done...i.e., what question are you responding to? Have a feeling it was the deleted entry above....
