We're not THAT different
Today I flew from MEM to MCO on the jumpseat of a NWA *gulp* Airbus. I must say that there were lots of seats in the back where I could have ridden, but I went hat in hand... YES I ACTUALLY HAD MY HAT... and asked the captain if it would be OK for me to ride up front with them. I got a bit of a funny look at first, but he said.. sure, whatever, and we walked down the jetway. Primarily my interest was to see how differently we operated the airplanes, but since I'm a Boeing guy, the whole sidestick traytable thingy had me a bit freaked. (not really) But after all the niceties and stuff were thru and we were airborne, it was just like being in any cockpit at DAL (I quit looking at the panels though) We talked about layovers and the weather and stuff I can't mention here and I even answered some questions about the contract that they were a little fuzzy on. (I got 'em now... hehehe) Turns out that.. believe it or not, and I can't PROVE this... that we all put our pants on the same way. So I guess what I am wanting to get across is that however all this unpleasantness with the SLI turns out, I will be glad to have my new shipmates on board. Thanks to Paul and Stefan for an enjoyable ride. You guys are welcome on my jumpseat anytime. (That's all ya'll NWA guys)

But,
It does insult your landings every approach. That French guy screaming "RETARD RETARD" just makes my blood boil!
Tsquare, we all need to do what you did more often. Get to know each other vs taking that nap and letting the beverage cart hit you in the knee.
Good on ya,
Ferd <-----always a Boeing boy

Good post, Ts. I too am looking forward to being one big happy family.
Also, if you can get used to the 320 then you are a better man than me.
Like Ferd, Boeing/MD/DC forever!!! (That Airbus thing scares me.)
