Christmas in Amman

Hey! I get to spend Christmas in Amman Jordan (77 hour layover). Where are the rest of you guys going to be? Please no rubbing it in if you are going to home with your family singing Christmas carols.

Wow...I have never seen a layover that long in an NWA bid pack. What's up with that? Do you guys do many of those?

Around holiday periods and shoulder seasons, yes. My favorite was a 6 day Barcelona layover (flew in on Sunday morning, left the following Saturday at noon.) There wasn't a FA on the trip with a seniority number over 100.

Most Delta layovers internationally are 24-36 hours if there's daily service. With all the new destinations with intermittent service, I'm sure there'll be some real interesting stories to tell.

Speaking of exciting, exotic international layovers, what are some of your worst domestic layovers. The ones when you tell your wife where you will be and she responds with, "I'm sorry."

NWA = Minot or Flint

Well we used to have some nice long ones on the DC-10 out of HNL. The short Kuala Lumpur layover was 56 hours and the long was 82. 4 star hotel, nice food, etc...
Now it's 11 and a half hours in GFK or BHM for me.... sigh.

What a business!

Actually FNT= Redwood Lodge; just won some sort of award for Best Stout Beer in a Remote Area or something...good food.

MOT=Bowling Alley with cheap pitchers

The really bad ones include any/all of the podunk airport hotels with absolutely nothing around...take your pick!!

When do we get the improved language on hotels again?

The old Greek Isles in Vegas. To crappy to be condemned so it lives on. Where does NWA stay in LAS?

I'm curious if Christmas is even celebrated there?
