SLI Negotiations

Are any meetings planned this week with the NWA/DAL negotiating teams? Or are we waiting to see who blinks first!

My guess is that they're not negotiating, as such, but rather both sides are stipulating to the way certain items are considered, and then letting the arbitrators determine the final numbers.

This way you can guide, in some measure, the direction of the arbitration, avoid some nasty surprises, and you can still perform blame evasion at the end and say "that was the arbitrator's decision".

Win/win

while I agree with you in theory, the whole reason we are in arbitration is because most items could not be agreed too. Anything that both sides could agree on has most likely already happened. I expect very little stipulating is going on at this point.

I actually think about now is when any real negotiating will start to occur. The arbitrators will certainly be signalling where they are going with this and giving both sides a chance to have some say in the final outcome via a negotiated list instead of zero say via an arbitrated list.

That is exactly what is going on.

So is Dec 8 still on?

Yes, but it could come before to. Dec 8th is the latest that they will hand down the decision. If there is any hope of movement this weekend, I am sure that they will wait until Monday.

ok the person with the closest guess to the release of the new list wins. No debating the list itself, just the time and date of the release.

I guess Monday the 8th at 1700.

Do you think there is pressure from management to get it done by the 8th? Seems like in the past, other arbitrated list decisions have been pushed back several times. I don't even know if that's an option. Just curious if anyone knows.

What do I win?????? (Sound like my teacher wife's kids)

Since you have my guess I'll go with the 8th at 1659 EST:D

Dec 8th 1800 EST. It will be later in the day to early evening from what I have been told. I figured they would want it out a few days before that, but that is what I am being told!
