SWA/AirTran SLI Discussion with Drift by LuvJ

Guarantee me the SWA contract will remain in effect forever, with no decrease in $$ or QOL and we'll talk about that.
Contracts change every few years and your current contract is no guarantee of future wages/QOL. And I got news for ya...that's exactly how an arbitrator is going to see it.
Sounds to me like Mr. 1Seat 1Engine has 0 brains

This will be my one and only post on this thread, so here it goes. This will be a great deal for SWA (the company). There will certainly be some growing pains for the two pilot groups (short term I hope). Neither pilot group asked for this but it is what it is. I realize that we have our problem children over here that are charged up with emotion as I am fairly sure that you guys at AT have the same sub-group amongst you. These groups tend to be the most vocal and the ones that tend to emotionally spout off. It makes for exciting reading but then again, so does any Clive Custler fiction.
I really think that if we were all in a bar on an overnight, that the conversation would look nothing like this thread. It's really easy to puff out your chest and sound tough (or asinine) when you are not looking someone directly in the eye when you say it. Most of us are just a bunch of guys trying to do the best we can to earn an income for our families. Nothing posted on this forum will change the SLI outcome but it could very easily damage relationships long into the future.
Both sides of this issue have union committees to 'duke it out', hopefully in a professional manner. The process will either end in an agreement or an arbitrated settlement and then we will ALL be Southwest Pilots. Does anyone on either side really want to end up like USair?
Most of the pilots here at WN are very reasonable as I'm sure is the same at AirTran. I look forward to the day that this SLI is in our past wand we can get on with working hard together to continue building this great company.
Sorry for the intrusion. I now return your thread to you so you can keep arguing about who's 'junk' is bigger or perhaps since SWA was mentioned in this thread, it can turn into the standard 'bash SWA' thread.
