If so does anyone else have an issue with someone's domestic partner, registered guest etc going ahead of a pilot on his way to work? I hear it used to be this way but changed. Coming from the airways side this all new... Has anyone voiced any resistance to this?
This is how non-rev travel has always been here at AA.

To be clear: your registered guests are D3. Pilots and other employees are D2 so therefore will always have a higher priority regardless of check in time.

But your spouse/companion is a D2 or D1 and can be a higher on the priority list if they checked in first. Check in is done online 24 hours before departure time.

Pilots always have the advantage of riding up in the jumpseat if all seats are full. Other employees and travelers get left behind.

It looks like nonwholly owned express carriers are below registered guests and buddy passes as well, that should be fun...

That's almost how it is in the DL system. Nonwholly owned's only beat out buddy passes. Makes getting to work awesome.

I personally am not happy about the new system. The us airways system was a lot more fair in my opinion.

Yes, up to 7 days out via an automated phone system. It's first come-first served. I hope it survives. It takes the stress out of commuting!

It also makes a difference on AA/Eagle/Connection for parents of employees if they are traveling with the employee. Unaccompanied parents are D2P priority (and below all ordinary D2s regardless of check in time), but your parents are traveling with you, they can then be ordinary D2s.

Also any nonrev passenger who is transiting a city is automatically moved up ahead of passengers originating in that city (D2T ahead of D2, etc). So a pilot commuting MIA-ATL will always be below, for example, a spouse of another employee who went EYW-MIA-ATL using a D1 (but as was mentioned before, there's still the jumpseat)

Unless its a SkyWest flight...they bump everyone, even my parents bump mainline employees on SkyWest flights.
