Mesa Questions
Happy New Year!
I知 strongly considering Mesa, due to quick upgrade times and a DFW domicile. I知 above ATP mins, instrument current and glass proficient. So - are both PHX and DFW junior bases? Live near DFW now, considering a move to Denver to be closer to family. Are DFW and PHX commutable from DEN? How large are classes? Planning on asking for the CRJ. Is CRJ sim training in Phoenix? How many sims are to be expected before checkride? Thanks in advance! |

Mesa Questions
Calmwinds, thank you for your reply, I had hoped you would do so. Primarily, we are making a decision on our priorities - 1 I知 older (61) and would like to get TPIC in the 121 world before I turn 65, as that will set me up for my post 65 career plans. 2 We both wish to live near our adult children and families. 3 I have recently been unsuccessful in obtaining my ATP type at another 121 operator in the allotted sim time and I know that I will be successful with another round of sims. (Beyond session 9, they were coming too infrequently to be sharp and consistent in my performance.)
I have friends at OO, but their upgrade time is pretty long. I looked at other regionals, but my wife and I are not willing to move East for Republic, Endeavour, PSA, etc. My friends tell me that I remind them of Dick Karl, the retired Surgeon who does the columns for Flying. His most recent column is, interestingly enough, about his type rating failure for his new jet. |

The only reason I ask is that Transstates has a base in Denver, has a quick upgrade, and a decent signing bonus, but they fly the E145. |
Yes, CRJ. I will be capitalizing on the training that I have had, thus far.

OO doesn稚 have a long upgrade on the CRJ. The problem is DTW.

I've heard the 3 sim zeros are going away, that would leave 8 sims and a check ride on 9. In my class they went by real quick unless you needed to repeat a ride, then your whole schedule gets out of wack.
PHX is not a junior base. |

3 zero sim
I believe Frank was referring to the first three sims being zero time (not counted), to bring a non-glass pilot up to speed for the program. And, that they might be going away.
