Just sayin...

Reuters) - U.S. airlines American Airlines Group Inc and Southwest Airlines Co said on Tuesday that they would give their employees a $1,000 bonus in light of the recent U.S. tax bill.
The airlines join a host of other companies such as AT&T , Boeing Co and Wells Fargo & Co promising to pay bonuses or invest more in training after the biggest overhaul of the U.S. tax code in 30 years, which cuts the corporate tax rate.
American Airlines will distribute the bonus to each team member, excluding officers, at its mainline and wholly owned regional carriers, according to an internal memo seen by Reuters. The distributions will total approximately $130 million and will be made in the first quarter of 2018, the company said.
Southwest said in a statement that as well as paying the bonus to all employees in January, it was increasing its fleet investment with Boeing and had donated $5 million to charitable causes.
The new legislation would "result in meaningful corporate income tax reform for the transportation sector in general, and for Southwest Airlines, in particular," said Southwest's Chief Executive Officer Gary Kelly.
U.S. President Donald Trump signed the massive tax overhaul into law in December. It cuts the corporate tax rate to 21 percent from 35 percent.

And, your point with regards to Mesa is.. to give bonuses like this: $55 million in bonuses for Southwest alone, one must have healthy profits and value your employees. We know Mesa’s employees aren’t valued and are just a means to an end.

Or maybe take this tax credit and improve things through out the company. Rather than line their pockets. No reason to make a list of the short cummings here. We all know what needs attention.

"short cummings"? - ygtbfkm

2017 Perfect attendance - $2750
2017 On-time bonus - $350

Total: $3100

Just sayin....

Also, all these little $1000 tax bill bonuses are a political gesture. Anyone who's celebrating them as "trickle down" needs to get their identity politics under control and watch a little less TV news.

The employees at Southwest and American are celebrating the bonuses. It wasn’t a program bonus, which both airlines already have. It was simply unexpected.

Who knows if Mesa even has profits that the tax break makes a difference.....

Our per diem is pretty low. It was no big deal for me because I itemize and would deduct the difference. Now it would be nice to have better per diem!

Itemizing expenses above the per diem is no longer allowed for flight crews under the new tax law. One redeeming fact: no more saving receipts in case I am audited.

I don't about you, but I'm tired being trickled on.
