If you are worried about what management might see you access with your iPad. If an incident happens, think what your family will think when the investigation concludes....

But just to humor you, if I died in an aircraft accident as a result of misuing an EFB while on duty, I won’t care what my family thinks. I’ll be dead.

Oh geez. I said when NOT at work as in at the hotel or home. Could you come up with anything more far fetched? Seriously??

I updated to the new version. Used it for 4 legs today. Nothing else. Ca used JeppFD-Pro. I used 16 percent of my battery. Day and night mode mixed. I turn off the display when not actively using it. Started at 100 pct. Tonight I have 86 pct.
There are things in the navigation I like over JeppFD-Pro. It was easy to move around and setup plates sids and stars.

I have to admit that positive changes are being made. The charts for IAH in particular have been cleaned up considerably. Still some work to do, but it appears, at least, that somebody somewhere is listening to and addressing our concerns.
The fact that the software apparently doesn’t auto update through the app store does seem like a minor PITA, though.

It's because it's an enterprise app. Non issue really. The last update was painless.

We are the only US airline that uses the product without a backup battery issued by the company or flight deck power, and the authority of the crew to use that battery/flight deck power when power drops below 50%.
I understand you have figured out how to conserve power. But, we fly routinely with low time FO’s that don’t manage the power that closely.
I have actually gotten to like some of the features of Charts+, but I plan to strictly enforce the GOM on the flight deck. No more wink and nod about using an unauthorized backup battery during flight. If we would have done this with Jepp, we would have a solution for flight deck power today. And, I don’t plan to use the product on the flight deck until there is an official crew memo that authorizes it’s use during flight, versus just an email.
