There is a huge difference between a company that is ran by bean counters saving every last .02%, and that of a company that does what it takes to complete the mission and keep customers happy. Part of completing the mission is being good to your employees so they do everything they can to help complete the mission. This is something that Mesa fundamentally will never understand or care to understand.

That's pretty weak.

What I said was that many of the hotels we stay at are so dirty I'm not comfortable putting my toothbrush on the bathroom counter. I've flown out of all the CRJ bases - some are REALLY bad, and some are just bad. Obviously, there are a few exceptions.

This topic is subjective. We all have different tolerance levels when it comes to cleanliness. With that said, I do recall several crews being treated for Legionnaire's Disease from our MEM hotel a little over a year ago. I was one of those who was exposed - and had to be tested. I suppose you'll take the same stand on this hotel as well? That it was 'good enough?' We complained loud and often about how bad this hotel was. It took an exposure to a deadly disease to finally get us out.

FWIW, I lost a childhood friend about ten years ago to Legionnaire's Disease.

Of course, my favorite line of yours - "you're a complainer" and "if you don't like it, just quit" - tell me all I need to know about you.

I don't know the real answers to that.

However, MCI went from a 4 Points Sheraton to an Ex-Clarion Dive, which was right next door (worst Hotel I have stayed here). Now @ the big D, which is allright.

ATL went from a great Hilton Garden Inn to the nice ALoft, and now we are staying in that linoleum floor dump, which is our worst hotel currently in my opinion.

OKC was @ the very nasty AmericInn. Made numerous complaints there after every stay. That layover has become pretty nice now.

Looks like IAH also has improved, yet I'm not sure what property they're using now.

Once upon a time, Regionals didn't exist yet. They were called Commuters, and they were designed to be a stepping stone for pilots trying to get to a major. It was not unusual to spend a couple of years at a Commuter, and then move on. Not guaranteed, but almost all Commuter pilots quickly graduated to a major.

Fast-forward to today. Several factors have created the Regional behemoths that many of us - try as we might - can't seem to move on from. It would stand to reason that, since so many of us are stuck in the quicksand that is the Regionals, we band together and demand to be treated better.

And paid better. A LOT better.

As for me, I'll continue to tell Regional pilots that they (we) are worth a lot more - and deserve better. I will continue to demand that we not settle for the crumbs our companies and our 'unions' (ha) throw at us.

And pilots like you will continue to challenge people like me. You will tell other Regional pilots to just accept their fate - that it's good enough. You will label people like me as 'problem children,' and try to convince other pilots not to listen to people like me. You'll tell others like me to 'just quit if we don't like it -' just as you're doing with me.

If you're ever unlucky enough to fly with me, you're right . . . I will make your life miserable for our four days together.

I will continually remind you that you're a sellout.

And you'll deserve every bit of it

By the way, I'm not disagreeing with you that at the regional level, things need to improve, including hotels.

What I'm having a problem with is your attitude. Once again, if you think that other Reginals stay at Shangri-la level, apply there.
Heck, try Emirates, no college degree needed there. They even fly the Airbus. I'm pretty sure they stay at the best hotels around the world.
Just imagine how high you'll sit in an A380, looking down on every other pilot.

Don't worry, you'll never fly with me. I'll simply remove you from the cockpit for safety reasons!

In a previous post, you said our crew hotels were fine.

Now you're saying you agree with me re: sub-par hotels - but that my attitude bothers you.

Not sure why you're hung up on this Airbus type, but whatever. It's irrelevant.

Hate the messenger all you want, but don't ignore the message. You took the position that by wanting more pay/QOL/better accommodations for regional pilots, I'm a complainer and should quit.

I (accurately) pointed out that this is Stockholm Syndrome behavior.

We all deserve better - including you. We just need to do a better job of fighting for it.

Especially considering our unions have abandoned us.

Let's just call a truce. I agree with you, we're on the same side. I wish you the best in moving on from the one regional (Mesa) that seems determined to lower the bar in every way.

Hopefully I'll get out of here soon, too

That’s rich. MAG pilots have done nothing to help the pilot profession! All the gains have come from a few pilot groups that stood up. MAG pilots have never stood up, in fact it could be said that since you chose MAG you are part of the problem.

This is not a slam, just pointing some facts for Brody. Since he thinks he is bringing the industry up.

Supply and demand is the only thing that dictates compensation and benefits. Outside forces have an effect on supply and demand, such as the 1500 hour rule and the economy, but JO ain't going to change a thing as long as flights go out.
You really ought to stop bashing each other, there is absolutely nothing an individual can do to change how a company treats them, except to leave.
Also, no one cares which regional you came from, unless it was the same one they worked at, it's a great ice breaker in the cockpit. No one gives a flying crap about inter regional pilot group politics.
